                                                     The Blackhole Saga: A Brief History


The songs were recorded over three periods (Dec. 2005; Spring 2010; 2012-13). Tom Schick engineered the original sessions. Version one was part of a planned trilogy of albums in 2006 that was rejected one-by-one by Lost Highway (Ryan's label at the time). War and Peace (a 28- song solo double LP) and THE CARDINALS' Star Wars album (11-12 song LP including "Two", "Two Hearts" and title track). Before beginning work on 'Ashes and Fire'; RA wanted to get the album finished now that he had his own label, Pax-Am. Over four years of production had continued with producer Jamie Candiloro and the record was further recorded and overdubbed and finally mastered in early 2010. The album was going to be a pre-order with The Cardinals III/IV album recorded in 2006. But it was cancelled.

    Think we’ll ever get to hear this thing? He’s teased it for so long now, but I wonder if he’ll ever actually make it available to us fans, especially those of us who have stuck by him and still love his music

    Thanks for checking us out! When he's got the incentive; he'll put out yet another version. As of 2023, that's the excuse now. More stuff found; when the time is right, etc. I think it'll be great. But the concept was originally a more serious follow up to RNR. Then, LH rejected it. We probably heard some of it in 2006. I feel the purge of unreleased stuff was a middle finger to LH. Different names free download to avoid legal stuff. So much stuff was recorded in 2006. The only thing out there is a reference disc for War and Peace. Ryan has the 2010 and the RSD versions locked up tight, lol.
